My first reaction is that if any person is looking for guarantees that life will be perfect, near perfect, perfect half of the time, etc, needs to give that expectation up. There are no guarantees in life.

I'm not sure what the difference is if people don't speak English or are of a different religion from one another? There's no perfection in one language over another and the same applies to religion.

We certainly could secure our borders and that has nothing to do with perfection. That's a very normal reaction to the sovereignty of a nation.

As for the billions that it takes to rebuild, rebuild what? He needs to be more specific. There may be places or things that are not worth rebuilding, so there is not waste of money on those things.

One thing is for sure, no one is keeping anyone here against their free will. A citizen of the United States can come and go from/to California without worry. If he wants to try another pasture, he's free to go there.

Susan said,

"it's just a joke!"

Susan,

I didn't take it that way. I think it was in poor taste if it was intended as a joke. It slams minorities and religions under the pretext of humor. What's next on your weblog, ethnic jokes?
